Young Wales Torfaen

Your youth forum is a fantastic way to get involved in your local community, and to tackle issues that affect children and young people where you live. Every forum in Wales works differently but the issues are always identified by young people who then campaign for change. Some areas also have children's forums.

The forum will be using this page to share what they're doing. Come back soon to find out what's going on.

Members wanted for Pontypool Community Youth Council

Are you interested in being the voice of young people in Pontypool and/or representing the young people of your organisation on the Youth Council? Pontypool Community Council is in the process of re-establishing its Community Youth Council which has been in existence for nearly 20 years but has not had any members for the last few years.

Involvement will mean an hour or so every month after school to discuss issues relevant to young people that you raise or are raised by others who want the views of young people.

The Youth Council will be properly constituted with a Chairman and officers and there will be a budget with which you can organise events etc. for young people in and around Pontypool.

There will also be an opportunity to represent the Youth Council on the Community Council as its co-opted Youth Representatives. This is also a good opportunity to gain ‘brownie’ points for your CV for applying for jobs and to get a good reference. The only criterion
is that you live in Pontypool and are aged between 11-25.
